Shakespeare's Sonnets (version 2) William SHAKESPEARE ( - ) Shakespeare's Sonnets, or simply The Sonnets, comprise a collection of poems in sonnet form written by William Shakespeare that deal with such themes as love, beauty, politics, and mortality. This is an alphabetically ordered list of plays by William Shakespeare.
Dates following titles indicate the dates the plays were written unless otherwise noted. Asterisks indicate plays likely written by Shakespeare and other playwrights, though evidence has been disputed.
Edward III and Cardenio (Double Falsehood) have also been attributed. Macbeth, hands down, should be number one as it is the best of Shakespeare's works (at least in my opinion). I have read 5 of the works listed (as I am only in high school and haven't had the vocabulary or analysis skills to read more earlier).

The Works of William Shakespeare, Vol. 2: The Text Regulated by the Folio of ; With Readings from Former Editions, a History of the Stage, a Life of the Poet, and an Introduction to Each Play (Hardcover). For me Hamlet and Macbeth are definitely Shakespeare’s greatest tragedies, Henry the 5th and 6th parts 1 and 2 are definitely his best histories and measure for measure and the merchant of Venice are his best comedies, but really except for a winter’s take, cymbeline, and Henry the sixth part three all of his plays are worth reading.
